I AM LIL' HAMMERHEAD!

Like the cry "Yes We Can!" Perhaps the CNMI now has a mantra for change:

 "I am Lil' Hammerhead!"

I believe it symbolizes for many a detachment from the status quo.

It is more than an anonymous blogger.
It is a mindset.
It is a spirit.
It is a movement.

Are you Lil' Hammerhead?

I have compiled a list of people who I believe are Lil' Hammerhead (not the author herself of the blog... but individuals who resemble Lil' in spirit, mindest and independant break from the norm.) they often times do not agree on things but they openly address the issues. They focus on solutions. They engage each other in conversation and debate. They are the change the CNMI needs now.

  15. I am being a bit picky.

I am looking for people who run against the grain. Individuals that do not embrace the status quo. Who are just as frustrated as I am with the current conditions in the CNMI. People who want to be a part of a movement that will bring about positive change. People that will put the good of the CNMI as a whole before their own personal or party interest.

I may be incorrect about some of the individuals on the list so far. Let me know if you believe I am. If I haven't included someone that you feel should be on this list, explain to me why.

I think you fall into the group that does things out of "personal interest" and not solely for the betterment of the CNMI as a whole.

That is clearly evidenced by your two posts that are moving for your inclusion in this list.

    What really moves you?

Is it the good of the CNMI or a deep rooted desire for personal power and recognition. I believe it to be the latter.

You have displayed this time and time again. You wrap yourself in good causes but it is rather transparent that those causes are but guises for yourself to attempt to secure fame and popularity.

To be Lil' Hammerhead you must be able to leave your ego at the door.

When confronted with a choice to make and when dealing with issues you do not step back and look at the whole picture. Your personal relationships and your desire to be adored warp your decision making abilities and more times than not you end up sticking your foot in your mouth, upsetting good people, spoiling a good thing or just generally making an ass out of yourself and your "cause d'jour".

  31. In all seriousness, this is simply a list of popular or prominent people who currently do not hold office.

There are some very smart people in office right now, like Joe Guerrero. I might disagree with his political philosophy, but I can admit he's smart.

Also, the people on this list wouldn't necessarily work together to move the island in the same direction. Kimo Rosario and Jane Mack are on opposite ends of the political spectrum, as are a number of people on this list.

Many of these people are smart and educated, which is probably why they are popular and/or prominent.

Other than that, there is no reason to think that a random sampling of people from this list would work better together than the 29 guys we have up on the hill right now.

    This list is naive.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Your response above sums up the reason you are not included within this list.

a champion of the status quo (although I've never worked for the government)

    or

an upstart fly-by-nighter with no roots on this island (although my father's name is on our constitution)

    which is it?

"an upstart fly-by-nighter with no roots on this island (although my father's name is on our constitution)"

    ------------

    Lil,

Gotta love your sense of humor. There is no way that an individual who just stated that the 29 people in office right now work better than 29 off this list.

First off his bullshit detector is not set correctly. Anyone that has sat through even one session on the hill with an operational BS detector would have had the thing going batty and jumping off the charts.

The 29 people in office right now do not work together at all as evidenced by the state of the CNMI.

Ron Hodges' class could do a much better job than the group on the hill.

Perhaps, Angelo's keen sense of bullshit was throw off by the sheer number of laws that that August body has been able to churn out. Maybe they clogged up the sensors? Again just another reason to leave Angelo off the list.

Rather than rehashing all of the past posts that he has made on his site and comments across the net I will just leave him off the list.

  39. You fail to comprehend my commentary.

This list is nothing more than a list of people who aren't in power and who, to vary degrees, are prominent in our community, whether it be one of our drinking buddies, a business owner, or someone who holds a visible position in our community.

There is nothing linking this list of people in terms of political philosophy, integrity, ideals, or anything else for that matter.

There is no reason to think that a random sampling of people who disagree in the civic arena would agree in the political arena.

Furthermore, political office is not necessary in order to change these islands. Because most people that live here are socialists, yourself included, you assume that the answer to everything is the government.

    Need a job? Government.

    Need some land? Government.

    Free college education? Government.

The real answer to this island's problems will be found outside government.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Imagine sitting Ken Kramer and Doc Murdoc next to each other...

  44. Yes and no. The government should regulate the private sector. We had the opposite happen, where the private sector told the government what to do. They made out like bandits, charging Japanese tourists $100 to go to Managaha, while paying the poor guy who took them out there $2.05 (until recently).

If the CNMI had done a better job of controlling their immigration, there would be a private sector job for every single US citizen on this island. Instead, they chose to give away patronage jobs in the government. The money for those patronage jobs could have shored up the retirement fund, which is now headed for imminent collapse.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Whew. Where do I begin?

My poor boy. I think the comprehension failures lie with you.

Please point out where I have stated that this list contains people that should "hold" a government office.

"I have compiled a list of people who I believe are Lil' Hammerhead (not the author herself of the blog... but individuals who resemble Lil' in spirit, mindest and independent break from the norm.) they often times do not agree on things but they openly address the issues. They focus on solutions. They engage each other in conversation and debate. They are the change the CNMI needs now."

Your lack of comprehension is yet another reason why you did not and will not make this list.

Your limited comprehension skills reveal themselves yet again in your assessment of my political philosophy. Socialist?

Try reading this post. ( http://pragmaticplato.blogspot.com/2008/11/job-entitlement.html ) Start with the first word in the upper left hand side of the page and read each word aloud one by one going towards your right. When you reach the "." STOP. Take a deep breath then go back to the start and begin again. Do this 5 times for each sentence. Perhaps after this comprehension exercise you will be able to grasp what you missed the first time you read that post in my blog.

Now back to my list of names.

The is comprised of "people who run against the grain. Individuals that do not embrace the status quo. Who are just as frustrated as I am with the current conditions in the CNMI. People who want to be a part of a movement that will bring about positive change. People that will put the good of the CNMI as a whole before their own personal or party interest."

Your fear of any of these people sitting down together is also a another reason you are not on the list.

Alex and Jim most likely have sat down together and most likely will again. I don't think Bill would steer clear of a meeting that also involved Greg. Kramer and Doc may find they have more in common than not and also may not fear a meeting of the minds.

Your small-mindedness and your pettiness reveal themselves in the comments you posted above, and are the reasons you, my boy, did not make the list.

These individuals on the list are independent thinkers. They all share the one trait that you see as a negative and I view as a primary strength: Individualism.

It does not matter if they think the same way. All that matters is that they think.

They are people of ability and of reason. They are men/women of the mind.

They are people with a purpose and people that can and will change the CNMI.

I have not stated that this is a list of politicians-to-be. If that were the case perhaps you would be squeezed in under that heading alone. But it is not and that is why you did not make the list.

This is a list of egoists. You, my boy, are an egotist and that is why you did not make the list.

Angelo, you are the status quo.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Try the reading comprehension exercise on the list.

Start with the name at the top of the list. Read it 5 times then stop. Think about the individual name you read. Ask yourself, "is this person in office now?" Then move to the next name on the list.

After this exercise you should be able to determine that your previous assessment was incorrect.

Elected officials are on the list.

The list is not a mere compilation of popular individuals.

Angelo, you are the status quo.

You don’t have to hold hands with him in a warm shower , the issue is the issues, and Saipan needs to focus on more pressing issues than blog rumors.

  74. Hi Ron,

I have detailed in great length in the comments above the reason why I did not add Angelo to the list.

I thought long and hard initially. I must say that many of the individuals on the list I do not see eye to eye with on many issues and some I have had major arguments with.

Rather than reiterating the factors that kept him off, please scroll up and read them. If any of the points I made about him are incorrect than I will reconsider.

Good on you for including Mark Hanson. He is a good attorney and courageous man.

  112. Angelo, what do you mean this list composes of "popular" people? I see names of people who can barely even get in Club V.

You're not list worthy and why don't you quit flattering yourself in anonymity.

  116. That is a great status quo list although Goro waffles so much I don't know which side of the fence the TTT.

You did leave a couple notable jerks off though. I would like to add Bob "I'm not swift with women" O'Conner, many other lawyers, our judges, especially Wiseman and Lizama, and all of our hotel owners.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Alex Sablan and Ivan Q. are status quo mainstays through and through.

And Bob Jones, as well as O'Conner could knock Satan off the status quo list.

What would you call either floating legless in shark infested waters...Bob.

  118. If you go through Sblogger's archives you can see he came to Saipan with his hot ex girlfriend who aleft island bc he treated her like shit and cheated on her.

Let's all find her and ask her about the size of Angelo's penis. EJ is way too warped for good info.

  119. Why is everyone so interested in Angelo's penis?

  122. Plato - You are the new and rightful heir and gaurdian of the "list" and you have compiled a great one.

The CNMI could disband our legislature and pick 9 names off that list at random (literally out of the hat) for 1 year, part-time, unpaid terms, to run the CNMI. We should change them evry year and none should have check signing authority or power to give contracts. Their first objective could be to hire a city manager, recruit a team so we could compete in the stimulus bills, and create a task force on immigration, labor, and the feasability of federal receivers for other crippled NMI agaencies.
