The Senate did it in 24 hours after the Veto.
The House has taken about a month and in their first attempt to override failed due to the Minority Members voting with Oscar (Thank you to Frank for doing the right thing and not being pressured by the MINORITY), STANLEY TORRES abstaining, DAVE APATANG being absent and...
... JOE CAMACHO being dumb.

The only thing going for Joe Camacho is his excellent website. That's not enough to make up for his voting record.

Every Rep that voted no except for OB failed to give reason as to why they voted "no" when asked at the session.
The only Rep who voted "no" that had any leg to stand on in defense was Oscar B. The others were too spineless and cowardly to utter any explanation about why they suddenly had a change of heart.
Vic declined to state for the house record why he voted no at the session. He has however publicly stated to the press that he voted "no" because the administration told him that they would fire 80 government workers on Rota. But under the continuing resolution that is in effect now they would "spare" Rota layoffs. If this is true it is blackmail and extortion and highly unethical. Sounds right up the alley of the administration.
Stanley claimed after the session that he would have voted “yes” but it all "happened too fast". He was probably in his office trying to get in a few more shots of whiskey and ended up showing up over 30 minutes late. In a blur they asked for his vote and because of the dizzy feeling and disorientation he failed to vote "yes" thus abstaining.
Josi the pussy (Joe C) also voted “no” and did not feel it was important to explain why to his fellow Republicans, other colleagues and most importantly the people he represents. He made no statement on record about his vote during the session and made no statement to the press after. This truly should reflect on the man he is supporting for Governor and possibly the man he will run with as LT --- Juan Pan.
Since Josi did not feel it was necessary to comment on his vote. Let me speculate. What was it that caused Josi to have a change of heart and Vote No. Maybe one of his many relatives that are employed by the government were threatened by a loss of job?
His brother George at the Legislative Bureau?
His best friend Fred who works for the LB?
His wife that works for Kilili, works for Juan Pan, maintains a private practice, works for the PUC and sub contracts out governmental work?
His mother-in-law that works in his office?
His brother Clyde who has contracts with NMC?
His buddy and Gubernatorial candidate (and the man he will probably run as LT with) Juan Pan working at the Retirement Fund?
I can go on and on with my speculating and with Josi’s family members on the government payroll and how that might factor into his change of heart. Let me stop here.
Maybe it was something else? Maybe by voting no he felt that it would prevent a budget override that Heinz and Arnold (running against Juan Pan) would be able to use to help them in the upcoming election. If the override occurred it would have given more power to Heinz, Arnold and all the yes votes in the public’s eye. It was the right thing to do. So if he could vote no and stifle the override he prevents Heinz and Arnold from getting that publicly perceived campaign points and this in turn helps his running mate JUAN PAN.
Maybe it was another threat? Maybe the Governor simply threatened to take away his access to the Legislative Refrigerator? Maybe they threatened to take away his government paid for phone? His government leased car? Maybe his 8 staff employees? Maybe they threatened not to invite him to abyss for happy hour or naked fish for wine?
Whatever the reason may be, we will never know. I like being able to speculate anyhow. Josi you are through and you not only hurt your reputation and spit in the faces of your constituents you now have also put a fork in Juan Pans chances of securing governorship. Thank god. No chance of getting the republican votes for Juan Pan as you and Clyde had promised.
As for Dave… I can not pounce on him for not showing. From what I have heard he is off-island for health reasons. While I wish he would have pushed for the override vote at one of the two prior sessions I will not harp on it.

Joe has an excellent website. I think he does work at his job, too.
But his judgment is poor and his excuses lame. He likes to wrap up his decisions in a lot of meaningless rhetoric with a nice smile on his face, but if you actually think about what he's saying, you'll see it doesn't make sense. Joe is a friendly guy with a nice personality, but his voting record is abysmal on all the important issues. He should not be a representative in our Legislature.

His voting record is terrible, the bills (the many, many, many bills) he has introduced horrendous, his hiring practices and nepotism stomach turning, his childish (not child-like) behavior disgusting, his lack of common sense appalling, his insecurity evident.

Glen sent an email under his name to the Variety with his Pragmatic Plato address. He also comments there under "The Truhth Hurts." He is also a beer marketer who tried to put a client/bar out of business under cover. He has been rude and personal to people, practically a stalker, and he has done it under cover. I think people will enjoy him squirming, and his assocation with Tina will only help her be even less able to accomplish much in her job. He's both a huge liability and a dickhead.
